Moriarty Brothers

In 1933, brothers Matthew and Maurice Moriarty opened a small service station on the corner of Center Street and Broad Street in Manchester. Eventually, the business expanded greatly and became a town institution, selling gas, servicing cars, and selling new and used vehicles. Over the years, Moriarty Brothers offered both Texaco and Mobil products, and became an authorized dealer for Ford Lincoln Mercury. The business also sponsored some of the best Little League teams in Connecticut, winning several state championships in the 1950’s – 1980s. The tradition came to an end when Moriarty’s closed its doors for good in the late 1990s.
